The Scientifically Speaking with Irene Moon set was the best Action Research performance I have ever seen! WOW! Even better than Google Earth, I dare say. Multiple costume changes, bizarre PowerPoint infestation presentations, weirdoid soundtrack, laser-pointer, old lady wig, fancy shoes with see-through heels, a Carl Sagan cameo, a banjo-playing bug, a definitive opening into an alternate dimension, goofball improvisation, Kafka-esque transformations, polka dot boleros, note taking, severely entertaining ramblings...
No amount of video footage will do this one justice. Those who missed it, missed it!
I almost professed my love to her right then and there.
Hal McGee gave an unrestrained frustration-spewing hateful noise blast of physically enduring showmanship.
Midnight Cobra delivered a short off-kilter yet syncopated emotionless experimental/noise demonstration.
Id M Theft Able was a super-nice weirdoid who combed his wild beard with a metal rake, made 15 audience members bounce 1"x1"x4' sticks at his command, spoke in tounges rhythmically as a broken human beatbox, played a fan, and did experimental sing-along karaoke based on requests and no visual or audio assitance.
Kevin Blechdom belted out an unexpected parade of broken-hearted dirges about the failings of male-female relationships with plenty of vocoded sincerity.
Ironing low-ended a moody tonal slow-down set which revealed the impending agony of his work day(s).
Danny McGuire was there too! And then some drunk kid came in and fell all over the place.
